We Might Wanna Take A Swim With JON BARONI

JON BARONI and STEVE BARTLETT
Steve BARTLETT ON BASS has known singer/song writer JON BARONI for over 20 years. He's such a fine musician...well, they both are really. They've done so many cool projects together...go HERE for some history. OK?
This photo was taken by me [Jan] at LIQUID SOUL COFFEE ROASTERs in McKenna 'round 2007. Wish Steve whould have been alittle shorter for the photo ...but, that's him alright.
I was surprised to find today that I had posted over 50 posta about Jon's activities over the years. WOW.
I also found a video of 'DOWN TO THE RIVER' [C] by Jon Baroni, done at Martin Salinas's LIQUID SOUL COFFEE ROASTERS in McKenna, WA. a couple of years ago...it was done with the band 'ECLIPSE'....that's TOD  LEMKUHL/guitar/vocals and MICHAEL HARRISON/drums. NOTE: Jon was never a regular part of the band 'Eclipse', but, a featured very special guest for this gig only.  TOD LEMKUHL/guitar/vocals, MICHAEL HARRISON/drums and my Steve BARTLETT ON BASS were known as the band 'Eclipse' for a couple years. If you need to see Jon better in the video here, go to YOUTUBE to view it.T. CELINE DION Just Feels Awful And Cancels Shows

CELINE DION. Photo by johanferreira15 cc
I understand, really I do....I saw online that singer, CELINE DION has canceled her shows this week in Las Vegas. She just feels awful, has a throat inflamation, that is being treated by her Doc. Her Doctor wants her to rest until after Wednesday. She's upset and worries about disapointing all her fans and all. Don't worry, Celine we all love your beautiful voice...so, take your time and take care of it. OK? This was reported by Anne Oldenburg of USA TODAY, Go HERE.
Steve's been under the weather too with a tooth ache. He stayed home from HOBBY STREET rehearsal last night, did not sleep last night and is sleeping this afternoon. I can tell that he's hurting alot, even though he pretends until he just can't stand it anymore and confesses to me. STEPHEN K. HICKS/drums our kind neighbor and owner of HOBBY STREET STUDIOS was helping us find a dentist last night, but no luck. BUMMER. T. Jan

What In The World's Going On?...Review PLANETARY NIGHTS

Another musical talent that independant music promotor, JAMES MOORE works with is R.J. SWEENEY of PLANETARY NIGHTS outta it looks like New York City.  First, let me say that I went to the eye doctor a few days ago and could only get online for very short periods before now.  And wanted to take a listen before today to PLANETARY NIGHTS 'cause R.J. SWEENY's 'PLANTARY NIGHTS' has played all over New York in clubs and different music venues. He has had three CDs out since 2009 AND, over 16,000 thumb's up on WWW.JANGO.COM/MUSIC/PLANETARYNIGHTS. I was looking forward to this and, I wanted to take my time and take a good look.
So, I eagerly went to his site this morning...go HERE. Nice looking website. I found lots of videos on YOUTUBE,...now I'm ready. So, Steve and I both take a listened
First,.....Steve said...'WOW..he's playin' a 12  string, and immediately put on his trusty earphones to get a better listen. ...well, I can't hear when Steve's got the earphone on .So, I tried to be patient. 'Sounds like good studio musicians backing him up', I hear Steve say.....'OK, OK  now it's my turn, let me hear alittle, will ya?'. said I....BUMMER. The video's are of poor quality, and sound 'echo-y' to me..I don't have musicians ears, like my hubby, and those ear-things Steve wears to hear, won't fit on my head with my fused neck and just fall off and all, so I just can't hear  the music very well. So, that's it folks. It's NOT a very fair review. Please, listen to the CDs yourself....for a better idea. There's a link on PLANTARY NIGHT's website posted above, and see what you think.  Please forgive me all you guys and JAMES MOORE, R.J. SWEENY and PLANTARY NIGHTS too....I'm trying to be very cool and fit into the real world, but, sometimes little physical things [like moving, walking, swallowing, turning my head, moving more than one finger on my only hand...my right, by the way  just get in my way, don't worry, I'm sure it's just tempory]'. Whoops. My mistake.
It's obvious that Sweeny's a decated musician tryin' to make a living in NYC...AND,that is way cool. PLEASE support him and buy his stuff..OK? Over and out, Trajen Jan

Wow, JERRY LEE LEWIS's..'Near-Death Experience'

Photo by kait jarbeau is in love with you cc
Hey, this is interesting.... I found this video on YOUTUBE 'bout JERRY LEE LEWIS's near-death experience. WOW. He's always been a favorite.
Well, did you know Jerry Lee had a near-death experience? I didn't, that kinda thing's always been very interesting to me, so I'll post a video of Jerry Lee talking 'bout it at the end of this post. OK? Hope you'll enjoy it too.
I guess, this death? occured way back in 1981. His stomach ruptured. Jerry Lee was always a kinda wild guy....you know, partying, lotsa drinking and stuff. He never sang calm, quiet tunes either...always put his whole heart and soul into every song...yelling, screaming and dancin' with his keyboard. I loved it...a cool show. BUT, that's really hard on your body, when you're doing it day in and day out. So, Jerry's body needed a REST.And, got his whole attention this way,....'Good Idea,Body' 'cause we all want Jerry Lee here for along time.
He said this did get his attention, and he stopped partying and being so C-R-A-Z-Y. ...Yea.
My Steve does 'WHOLE LOTTA SHAKIN'' every once in awhile, a famous Jerry Lee Lewis tune. Guess, Steve did it way back in 'CHEESEBURGER DELUXE' days in Seattle in 1972-1975. See link HERE. NOTE: Steve quit 'CHEESE' in 1975, but the band continued 'til 76, then disbanded.

What Cha Think? TOM PETTY On Music Troubadour BOB DYLAN

Photo  by Stoned59 cc
Just read somethin' on AMERICAN SONGWRITER. Go HERE. It's a cool story about TOM PETTY and BOB DYLAN...and, I love them both, so it caught my eye. TOM PETTY was really influenced by DYLAN as were so musicians back in the '60s. Petty said it was the first time he realized that songs could be written about real life...not just love. And, he met BOB DYLAN for the first time 'round 1977-78 at a BOB DYLAN awesome performance in L.A. Dylan invited him backstage after the show. WOW. How cool is that?
When BOB DYLAN decided to perform with an electric guitar in Willie Nelson's FARM AID way back in 1985, he wanted an electric band behind him. He picked TOM PETTY AND THE HEARTBREAKERS to back him up. Dylan loved them. And, TOM AND THE HEARTBREAKERS were all delighted. Yea, I guess so, a dream come true for any musician anywhere on this or any planet [Trajen Jan... SMILE cool]. Tom admired Dylan too...and says about him.." He’s a really good musician, and a great songwriter.", " A troubadour of the truest sense." and " I admire him for remaining a good guy, an honest guy."
I would recommend this piece from AMERICAN SONGWRITER as an insightful and eye-opening look into the real day to day hard work and
dedication needed by musicians at the top. It's an enjoyable read. Thanks, Trajen Jan--------------
Found TOM PETTY and BOB DYLAN on YOUTUBE doin' 'Knockin' on Heaven's Door' [thanks .cantodosclassicos].

How It ALL Started..'What Do You Wanna Play?'..1967

STEVE BARTLETT 1971 with glasses
Steve told me a cool story lately....How ALL this all started way back in 1967. Steve was in high school, north of Seattle in Stanwood, Washington.
Now, he started playing guitar in 1960, when his dad, Morgan Bartlett Sr. surprised Steve in his third grade class, and sang a few songs and played his wonderful magic guitar. I know 'THE OLD MAN OF THE MOUNTAIN' was always a favorite song, and today Morgan's grand children and great grand children love it too.
Steve said ,'he was a 'nerd', and bored in school'. When he and two school friends decided to begin a band one day, to rent a hall, have a concert and make lotsa money. 'We had NO fear' says Steve....OK,...Cool.
They began by deciding who would play what instrument...Steve got to play the guitar. The two friends were also brothers, last name was 'LUDWICK', Roger and his brother. One brother got to play the drums and the other the bass.
OK...They practiced for about 'two weeks', charged at the door, had their concert. It was great fun, lotsa couples dancing AND, the boys each made 'about $7.00'. Must have been a BIG amount of money way back in 1967. That was their only performance. Steve moved back to Edmonds soon after the concert to live with his mom...known as Betty or Elisabeth Perkins-Bartlett.
Steve did not began playing the bass until 'round 1970.
Steve was one of the original members of the band 'GOOD BLESSING' in 1971, Seattle, WA. Presented  by Heidelberg and KING RADIO.
From PACIFIC NORTHWEST BANDS, See link
---------------------
Photos from PACIFIC NORTHWEST BANDS, go HERE...Band...'Good Blessing', 1971, Seattle, Washington. He also played several years in the Seattle area band..'CHEESEBURGER DELUXE' 1972 to 1976. Go HERE
------------------------
Found on YOUTUBE...CAB CALLOWAY 1933..."The Old Man of The Mountain" is non-stop Cab from beginning to end. He appears first as an owl, singing the title song. The words have been changed for the cartoon, in which the Old Man is a villain. In the original song, the Old Man is a benevolent character. Next we see Cab as the Old Man himself, rotoscoped and singing, "You Gotta Hi-De-Hi," followed by "The Scat Song."

Louisiana Red & Little Victor's Juke Joint Blues - Blues Music Awards HD

Found this BLUZZZ Video on YOUTUBE. Yea, for BLUZZZ...my favorite [Trajen], Steve loves music. He believes music opens everyone up to greater realizations. Frees our mind and spirit.
Here's a note about the video.
"Louisiana Red & Little Victor's Juke Joint @ Blues Music Awards 2010, Memphis, Tennessee. Their multi-award winner album "Back to the Black Bayou" had two "nominations" at the last BMA (the Blues GRAMMIES). The Blues Foundation asked them to play at the cerimony in Memphis with the whole band featured on the record. A full DVD with more music from that memorable night is now available on the Blues Foundation website."

Yesterday, STEPHEN K. HICKS/drums and owner of HOBBY STREET STUDIOS called me on the phone and was the first one, except my Steve, to call me 'TRAJEN'...Cool. Because that's my name...'TRAJEN'... JAN ROSE-BARTLETT'.
'Trajen' is an odd name, I know, most folks know me as 'Jan', and that's cool. I go by both names. Why?, because 'TRAJEN' means 'POWERFUL', that's all...thanks for wondering and asking. AND, I AM very powerful, bold, secure and have alota courage, I never give up, that's just the way I am. I've always been that way...as long as I can remember. This word really helps me grow and change too, I fell in love with the name. So, when I heard this word 'TRAJEN' for the first time a few years ago...I just knew it was me. I legally changed my name for the first time in 1994...and loved that change...so why not do it again? thought I. When anyone calls me 'TRAJEN', it helps me remind myself that I am very powerful, always safe and can do anything. Thanks everyone for helping me remember. 'Nuff about that, now, let's get on with more music and cool stuff...OK? Trajen Jan
