Hi Everyone,
"Jazz Jam Lives!" the jazz and blues (and other surprises)jam session is held the last Sunday of every month 4-7 at the Thumbnail Theater in Snohomish. The Tim Noah Thumbnail Theater is a non-profit organization and I am excited about having our Jam Session under their wing.
Remember that this is an all ages, all levels jam session with a house rhythm section (Piano, Bass and Drums)
There is a suggested donation of $5 per person ($10 max per family) to help cover the costs.

Tim Noah Thumbnail Theater is located in an historic building in the heart of Snohomish WA. on the southeast corner of 4th St. and Ave D. Parking is available on adjacent streets and the entrance is on 4th St. A handicap ramp is off the driveway on 4th.

LIQUID SOUL's Fantastic Last Night Of Music....August 12th...BE THERE/PARTY DOWN

This morning, I [Jan] called owner of 'Liquid Soul Coffee Roasters', Martin Salinas/guitar/vocals...'What a wonderful, excellent cup of Liquid Soul fresh roasted coffee, Steve made this morning.'
Steve and I really love great coffee, Liquid Soul is one of the finest coffee roasters around. The fresh roasted bag of 'Organic Java' that Steve bought recently from Liquid Soul, was going down Smooth and Deliciously this morning...'Oh, my mouth's watering again just thinking about it!' I had to congratuate Martin myself...what a fine product he makes.He was happy to hear from me. Then, he said.....'Liquid Soul' would be having a fantastic last night of music in a few weeks...on August 12th. Wants everyone to come in and have a great time...'Let's PARTY DOWN', he said.
Well, what sad news...'Liquid Soul' closing?...I just didn't want to hear or believe it.
Not only is Liquid Soul's coffee the best...MARTIN SALINAS is one of the very best too, a 'guitarist's guitarist', a world class talent...just ask anyone who's heard him play. Steve and I will miss him greatly. Martin will let me know more as things unfold and I'll report them here.
For now though...go get some awesome fresh roasted coffee before it's too late....roasted right there in McKenna. And, tonight there's live music too... an OPEN MIC starting at 6pm, going to 9pm. They serve sandwiches/salads/soups and delightful desserts. Beer/wine. Kids are always welcome and there's dancing. Maybe, Steve'll drop in to relax and have a fine roasted cup of Joe.... and bring a bag home for me too....'Please Steve,...pretty please...will ya? please Steve.'

Latest News From Daven Tillinghast, ...'Summer In The Sixties' ...Back By Popular Demand

Just writing a quick note to let you know that Harlequin Productions has extended the run of Summer in the Sixties for one more weekend due to popular demand.
That means if you haven't been down to see it yet, you have four more chances.
Or, if you loved it the first time, come see it again. One delighted patron told me he'd seen the show 11 times! A lady standing nearby piped up "I've been to eight."
It's an incredible audience, people come in costume, they dance, they sing along; it's quite a party.
And the band's pretty good, too:
"The music is loud and often guttural with raspy screaming voices that easily flow into more mellow tones highlighted by Tillinghast's wailing guitar." [Alec Clayton, 6/22/11]
My performance is described as "note-perfect...He's worth the price of admission alone, especially on that memorably blistering solo from 'Black Magic Woman' [Weekly Volcano, 6/22/11].
Come party with me and my friends down at the State Theater. Beer and wine are half-price for the rest of the run.
Thank you for making this year's show their best ever.

When JON BARONI/keys/vocals/harp called last week and asked me [Jan] if I had a link to the site...I had to say 'not yet'...'ask all the guys', I replyed. But...Boy, am I glad he called...this is a fun site with histories, photos and tunes too...Cool, And the long awaited...But well worth the wait, WALTER'S BIRTHDAY CD is now finished. I've heard it...another BIG WOW! It will be available really soon on the site and I'll have a link too. But please go the web site now and check out those photos...I loved them.....great job guys.
Steve has been reporting to me the progress on the CD...of course [hint: he's my best friend...we tell each other everything....Cool], But, whoops.... I had FORGOTTEN about their Web Page, where was I? anyway?.... don't do what I did, See it now, link below....I think TOD LEMKUHL/guitar/vocals gets the credit for alot of it...but, everyone knows how great SCOTT ERCOLIANI/drums is with videos and media stuff, I and I don't want to leave anyone out. It'll be fun. 'Liquid Soul' is located in McKenna...only one mile outside Yelm towards Roy. They are located at the McKenna 'Y', behind BAYDOS. Phone 360/400-soul. Beer/wine/fresh roasted coffee. Soups/sandwiches/desserts. This all starts at 8 pm tonight....dancing allowed...kids welcome.

Hey, you're back...Whatcha been doin?....Nothin....[pause]....'Feeding the ducks..?'
I remember glancing out our window.....seeing our neighbor-boy Lucas and his 'commando' six year old friends crawling slowly toward our noisy squakin' and very alarmed ducks and chickens....all boys on their stomachs, looking very serious indeed...using their elbows to pull themselves along towards their intended targets.
Michelle, Lucas's Mom's voice called out......'Lucas?.....Whatcha Boys Doin?'......'Nothin Mom[pause]...Feeding The Ducks?'....'Well,You Boys Come In Now..OK?'So, What've I been doin' the past few months? 'Nothin' feeding the ducks?'
Well, really now...my computer went out and then.....while it was in the shop, I found out I really enjoyed just being by MYSELF and getting to know me...cool. So, kept it off to be alone and to just be... and just ponder for awhile.
