OK...This is just for all those, you know, worried, troubled moms out there. 'We're legal, Mom, Really'...Just look. See, now, you can stop worrying...It's all OK.

I was just thinking,......'Why not have some fantastic real live music at your next wedding?' You know, it's about time and live music just makes everything just more special, that's all AND probably more legal too. So, Mom's love 'em.  WOW! Cool, everyone's happy.

Aretha Franklin Is an Old Lady and She Sounds Like It; Good for Her

Go HERE and check it out for yourself. O.K?
Some people AND music just never gets old...like Aretha, does she?  I was very happy to read this story...'cause Rich Juzwiak, was on my side and a real Franklin fan, like me...cool.
Aretha started singing, like many very cool singers, as a teenager in her church in the 60's. Her father was the minister. She was known as 'the Queen of Soul' by the end of the '60's. She was also the first female induced into the ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME in 1984. Well, it was about time is all I can say. She my favorite.Jan

NOT Only The Night Time...It's Always The Right Time

see photo credit cc
'This is a fun song. Lots of people have covered it, and I'll post their links below. O.K? Anyway, it was recorded by NAPPY BROWN in 1957, soon followed the version I remember by RAY CHARLES and  HERE in 1958. [from WIKIPEDIA]...But, it's been around for along time, since 1937 at least, when ROOVEVELT SYKES listed it as one of his tunes. Stkes was a blues piano man. BIG BILL BROONZY and LENNY CARR did the song eariler than Skyes, probably the song got it's start in vaudeville. I posted a video link of Big Bill Broonzy it didn't have 'The Night Time' on it, but showed some fun ragtime so I posted it too. Jan

ARETHA Making a NO Show...'Baby, It's Freezing Outside'

maureen lunn cc
'Baby, it's freezing outside.'   Well, these are her exact words in her Email....  “Due to the deep freeze and UNPREDICTABLE weather, Radio decided to reschedule the concerts. Awwwwwww shucks. I just closed in Detroit at the Sound Board and I was raring and ready to snowball into the Apple ……stay tuned.” said ARETHA FRANKLIN in her Email about the reason her upcoming shows at RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL for January 17th and 18th were canceled. Luckily the shows have been rescheduled for June 14th and15th...this summer...ah much better, nice and toasty. Folks who can't change the dates will receive refunds, said MSG Entertainment, reports DAVE ITZKOFF  of the NEW YORK TIMES two days ago...the 9th of January, that is.. Jan

Aretha Franklin's Out of the Hospital....After Cancer Surgery

ARETHA FRANKLIN, 69...Queen of Soul, is resting quietly at home after pancreatic cancer surgery about a week ago in Detroit. Her doctors told her all went well and to take it easy for a couple of months. She has cancelled her appearances and performances, while recovering at home.
She is one of my [Jan] favorite artists. such a powerful beautiful unique dynamic voice. Some of my Aretha favorites are 'Respect', 'Think', loved her performance in BLUES BROTHERS' too.
She got her musical start , singing in the church Choir...where her father was a preacher.
Several different places posted this music news. Jan
