I'm helping Steve work up some cool tunes, First up.... it's HORACE SILVER or HERE and 'Song for My Father' [thanks ] done on the upright bass....WOW...love it.
Then, we're off to 'St. Thomas' [thanks ] you know by SONNY ROLLINS and HERE....I'll list the rest of the tunes we're doin' below O.K? This jazz stuff is done all on the upright, of course. As Steve works up 'Sugar', link below
Let me tell ya 'bout the BLUZZZ stuff coming up. DAWSON's is the place to be in Tacoma [5443 South Tacoma Way] on October 24th if you're into BLUZZZ. Steve does most of this on his electric bass, maybe his fretless, but, usually the electric....so, watch out...anything can happen. It's SASS, with Ms SHELLY ELY, of course, she's the blues queen of our known universe on the main vocal mic just sassing it up. I know that singer/song writer STEVE MERRIAM/guitar/vocals is always coming with cool new stuff. ANDRE THOMAS/drums/vocals will be there and my hubby, STEVE BARTLETT on bass and vocals finishes off the members of this amazing band. I'll be there AND, everwhere Bartlett's playing, of course. Jan
PHOTO CREDIT: What a beautiful photo...I think .it's either by Randy Gray or Larry Collier....I will check and make sure and post it here, they're both on FACEBOOK....Jan....O.K .I went and checked, it's RANDY GRAY's photo....check him out,
