We've been busy music-wise...well, let me tell ya a cool thing that's been going on at THE PHOENIX RISING CHILDRENs SCHOOL in Rainier, WA....O.K?
Today is 'Taco Day'....the BIG performance by those wonderful children at the school and those proud teachers....my Steve BARTLETT ON BASS, MIKE FELDMAN/percussion and NEIL/horns[Whoops ,forgive me Neil I don't know your last name] . The parents are showing up today for tacos and music from these beautiful kids. Of course, I'll be there.
Anyway, Steve loves kids....being a wonderful big one himself, and the past 7 weeks of teaching and learning fun for everyone is coming to an end with the big hit.... 'It's Raining Tacos'....the children's choice....an a tasty choice it is yum, [got my vote SMILE].
The kids decided they did NOT want to a tune the guys brought in, thinking the kids would love it. by their lack of enthusiasm ....you know.....'yawn'....told the truth, AND, so when asked what they wanted to do jumped up and yelled all together...'It's Raining Tacos'....and so it was decided then and there.
They will be doing that SONNY ROLLINS tune called 'St. Thomas' [thanks ,] that will be fun also. Jan
