O.K., How's that recording of 'Josie' [thank sMichalis Limassol]  by STEELY DAN going? You know...the recording with Steve's music buddy that he's known since high school. It's wonderful....MIKE KARNES sent us a copy...I love it 'cause, you know I'm a big Steely Dan fan and just love that 'Josie' bassline...well, who doesn't? But, I haven't figured out how to post a copy of Steve/bass, Mike/guitar and ANDRE LAVOIE's/drum recording yet. O.K? 
I'm re-posting the story from last year about Steely Dan 'cause they're really cool. Hope you like it.

When 'JOSIE' Comes Home, by STEELY DAN

What's BARTLETT working up today. OH...It's some old cool ' funky jazzy bluzy' or the very cool sound of STEELY DAN andHERE, BARTLETT, KARNES and ANDRE are doing an instrumental version of 'Josie' [thanks BetaClassics]. Who's or what's Steely Dan, you ask? Well, it's a '70's 'jazz rock' band. Steve's old time friend MIKE KARNES and BARTLETT both enjoy their sound. They've done several of Steely Dan's tunes together. Core members of the band... Steely Dan, are DONALD FAGEN and HERE and WALTER BECKER and  HERE. These two were known to be 'perfectionists in the recording studio,.. calling in several musical artists for each recording. This quote fromWIKIPEDIA..
"Over the year they took to record Gaucho (1980), an album of just seven songs, Becker and Fagen hired at least 42 studio musicians and 11 engineers.^[10]".

Steely Dan won a GRAMMY for Album of the year, has been inducted into the ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME in 2001, and they have sold over 40 million albums worldwide.

 The band disbanded in 1981, but contines to have a large cult-like following over the years. Weve been fans over the years for sure. Jan
