KITARO, New Age or Old Age?..Just .Wonderful Music, Whatever We Call It

KITARO from Wikipedia cc, see link
When did I first hear KITARO?  I can't remember exactly when ...BUT, loved him right off AND, it was several years ago. DOUG JOHNSON posted Kitaro this morning on FACEBOOK,called 'Matsuri' [thanks San Bass]  and reminded me...just how amazing this Japanese composer, recording artist and as Wikipedia says: " a pioneer of new age music." was and still  is.. See more Kitaro HERE, photo link..
New Age, Old Age, it's wonderful and amazing. I especially enjoy Kitaro's intensity....he's IN his music. What I mean is.... When I watch a video of one of his performances I can see that he's present with every bar of  every line of all the music and living it. It's simple music, that he's really involved in A great performance, and I love it all. It really works for him and me.. It's called 'Showmanship'. I love it...the whole picture.
When I researched Kitaro online for this post. One of the first things that I noticed was he seemed to be born to be a musician and let nothing stopped him...he continued this dream, .even his parents moved away and did not tell him...What?..'.Doesn't that appear to be a bit extreme? After all...he just wants to play some   powerful, beautiful music, not be an office worker or something.'
Anyway, Kitaro first got interested in music when he heard the Synthesizer and loved the sound. He switched to the keyboards in the early '70's.  Now plays guitar, bass guitar, flutes and drums with the keys. First In 1965, he'd joined 'The Far East Family Band', they toured the world....The Far East as well as Europe.
Then he started playing solo in 1977. Created two albums that became hugh hits of the new age movement.  They were 'Ten Kai' and 'Full Moon Story and, that's about when I first heard of 'Kitaro'' and loved his sound.
Around 1980, Kitaro was involved in the Japanese documentary called '.The Silk Road: The Rise and Fall of Civilizations'. The soundtrack sold millions of copies and launched 'Kitaro' into the whole  world's view.. The rest is history as they say: 16 Grammy Awards, a Golden Globe Award and so many more awards and public gifts etc.
He's 61 years old now and stll going strong. Has been touring with DOMO RECORDS [link above] with other artists.. He's been married 2 times and now lives in California U.S.A Jan.
Here's a YOUTUBE copy of 'MATSURI' my favorite tunes  of Kitaro's and the one I saw this morning. This is what the video page sats: " Uploaded on May 31, 2006
