Shy Guy Amazing Them All...See It Here, MICHAEL JACKSON's 'Billie Jean'

by Luis Eernando/Sonia Maria cc., see link
O.K....I saw this video on EACEBOOK today, shared by MERRI PETERSON SUTTON...Yea, I know...the letter between 'e' and 'g' won't work...so, I'm using 'E' instead...kinda looks like that letter, doesn't it? Well, let's pretend that it does. O.K?
Anyway, as I was saying...Iirst saw this video on EACEBOOK. It came Erom PETELOW.COM. The post said that this shy guy really blew his high school classmates away with his perormance oE MICHAEL JACKSON's 'Billie Jean'  called Talent Rally 2014,[thanks PDA - Pitman Daily Announcements]. NOTE: The amazing perEormance that I'm talking about starts at '112' on video. This is what the video page says: "Published on May 21, 2014

This video was used for our in-house announcements broadcast to feature all of our rally participants and give props to our Talent Show Champion --- Yes MJ won!
Full "Green Day" performance, which was snubbed by the judges, can be found at http://youtu.be/hfPow1iZwW0 (With special appearance by "Microphone Girl" stage left")
Also, girl walking through at 2:49 in this video was yearbook photographer. Can't have the full Michael experience without paparazzi!"
I thought it was amazing too....So, here it is.  Remember, the perEormance that I'm talking about starts at '112'. Jan

Music On MOTHER's DAY, Of Course, and Photos To Prove It

Steve and I, by Crystal Sincoff
O.K., This past Sunday, yesterday was 'Mother's Day', of course, valued time with our family. My kids made it very special....it was a beautiful warm sunny spring day, we were all making it happen at MARATHON PARK in downtown Olympia, What a beautiful place, a quite lake-side park, tall trees, easy to get to picnic tables, board games that made us all laugh and enjoy each other, and a majestic view of the white Capital Building Dome overlooking a peaceful lake, with great food made by my children...and, plenty of it. SMILE. A perfect place and day.
Wheelchair people: The bathrooms are easy to get in and out of and clean too. Yeah.
I'm posting a few of the photos taken by my daughter of Steve singing 'Happy Mother's Day to You', kinda like that old favorite, you know, 'Happy Birthday', but different. [Yes, Steve's playing a guitar, not a bass  for the song]. Ah, I'm in love with my life. Jan

DON SUNN and SUNNDOWN..Hear Some Troubadour and Social Change Favorites

    Bartlett '72, w/glasses, see link
Our friend, DON SUNN is a singer/song writer that knows his stuff. He loves harmonizing and stressing the vocals of each tune...you know, like those true troubadours of the '60's and 70's. The ones that led our world into real social change. You remember, changing those social activities, that were so commonplace before then----- hate, unequally, unkindness, and just plain cruelity and meanness....that's all humanity knew then, but, finally humanity started learning a better way, and growing up. Cool.
Well, this stuff right down our alley, What I call that 'hippie-stuff' or  'growing up' and working for the noble values of life. Steve BARTLETT ON BASS and I, that is.
So, today we're really enjoying working up and remembering some of Sunn's and our favorite tunes,  songs from those times.... ALL with some great vocals and harmonies. Yes, BARTLETT does vocals too.
I'm posting some video links below. Enjoy. Jan
ABOUT PHOTO: 'Good Blessing' 1972, was the name of one of first bands with BARTLETT ON BASS. The band was 'bassed' [SMILE] in Seattle, WA. You can find more about them in PACIFIC NORTHWEST BANDS and 'Good Blessing' HERE..Also, see 'Cheeseburger Deluxe', another band that BARTLETT was in from Pacific Northwest Bands, HERE.
Members of this SUNNDOWN group are: DON SUNN/vocals/guitar, BOB CORL/guitar/vocals, HEIDI HASLINGER//vocals/guitar, Steve BARTLETT ON BASS/vocals too, STEVE PARTON/drums/vocals....WOW, that's alot of vocals and harmonies ain't it? Wonderful. Jan

    Let's Play...JAZZ In A MINUTE or More...With A Bunch A Messy Sauce On Top...O.K?

by Paul Leubet cc, see photo ncredit
Let's play the game...'JAZZ in A Minute or More' Here's the rules,...O.K? The topic must be about JAZZ, lotsa jazz. As you know, BARTLETT just loves JAZZ...playing jazz, listening to jazz, talking jazz...and, yep...even rehearsing jazz...What? He likes to rehearse?...yea, and me too....so, that's alotta jazz, isn't it? So far, so good....fits the rules of the game.
Well, last Tuesday, April 29th, Steve BARTLETT ON BASS played some cool jazz...O.K., now we're talking...yes, AND once again that fits our rules. It was really fun and all that, and at THE PIG BAR in downtown Olympia Oh,, they're playing there again next Tuesday night, May 6th, from 8 pm'til 10...Is that O.K?...Well, of course...playing jazz at THE PIG BAR, AKA, SOUTHBAY BBQ is always better than just O.K,....it's absolutely wonderful...Did I win the game?
Well, not so fast...just who played jazz last Tuesday night and will play next Tuesday, May 6th, from 8 to 10 at The Pig Bar, anyway? It was ' The D.C.Jazz Quartet', and the members of this group are,...are.... DON COHEN/vocals...that's where the D.C. comes from, DON COHEN, smile. The guitarist is named DAVEN TILLINGHAST...Oh, WOW. MARK STOUT plays the trombone...horns, I love lotsa horns...you? We ALL know Steve BARTLETT ON BASS does ALL the electric bass...now, do I win?...YES, we all do..YEAH....see you next Tuesday night, 8 o'clock, address,. 619 Legion Way S.E. in Olympia.
Wait, I almost forgot....They BBQ lotsa food there, see the MENU. Didn't I tell ya? See, there's pig..er I mean, a bunch of delicious pulled pork, also there's ribs, beef, and chicken, it's Taco Tuesday. You know the BBQed stuff has this fantastic rich, red yummy sauce...I poured on just 'alittle' extra sauce last week..AND, made a BIG pig of myself....SMILE..Boy, was it fun and messy..just the way I like it,...wanta do it again this next Tuesday. Stand way back, you guys, I've been known to splash.
There's a easy, gentle ramp upstairs for those needing that sort of thing....AND, more good news, folks: the bathrooms are big enough for a person AND, wheelchair at the same time.
See you next Tuesday...I'll be the one under the yummy BBQ sauce...smiling...Yep, no doubt about it...I'm the BIG winner of the JAZZ game. Jan

BOB DYLAN Let Music Be Real and Out of That Old 'Sugary-Sweet' Box of Love

by incase cc, see photo credit
O.K. for today, I/m writing about BOB DYLAN and HERE again, not 'cause he's just plain cool, everyone knows that already BUT, I found another post online, telling us all how Dylan changed another famous musician's view of how music could be used to express the truth about life. How Dylan's style and original use of outta the box lyrics...just opened up, changed, reformed and rexpanded the ideas of how music could be used.  well, today, I read a artical called 'CHARLIE DANIELS: Bob Dylan Allowed Me To Be Free With My Music' by FOX411. I really enjoyed it. Check it out.
I've written about this before...TOM PETTY and HERE also said that Dylan really effected his idea of what could be done with lyrics...that before Bob Dylan....music was used to express the emotion of love and ideas about love. Dylan changed all that. Thank you Bob Dylan for giving music another voice, more vibrency and life..or for just making it real. Jan
