Today, BARTLETT's learning this tune. How does he do this? Well, we work together.... usually,  I go to YOUTUBE, find the song, we put on our head phones, Steve just needs to listen to a tune a time or two, with jazz it takes alittle longer 'cause it's has 'lots' of changes...and then he has it...WOW, this always amazes me. How does he do that? Don't know...BUT, it just proves once again that...ALL musicians are genius's, that's all.
AND, when I went online to research Benson...the information that I found was that George Benson was  'a child prodigy'. Just what I thought...a genius and recorded his first record at age 10. The police even shut down an unlicensed night club where he was playing on the week ends at age 8 .
He was discovered in the '60's, and has had a very sucessful solo career and still recording and touring to this day....doing a combination of 'scat singing', singing, soul, jazz, R & B, and pop.
That first record of his was recorded by RCA VICTOR and HERE in The Big Apple. It was called 'She Makes Me Mad' [thanks marco17220] that was round '53. But, let's go back to 'This Masquerade' for now, shall we?, 'This Masquerade' won Benson the Grammy Award for the Record of the Year in 1977.
Now, well, in 2013, George Benson released another album...called 'Inspiration: A Tribute to Nat King Cole' [thanks Concord Music Group]. This was his fourth album with CONCORD RECORDS or HERE, also known as CONCORD JAZZ. He's still very active in music. Touring and performing around the globe. For tour dates, go HERE.  Jan
