Mark also plays guitar, so he and BARTLETT often shares stories of their musical adventures together. Mark asked Steve to get the charts for CHICK COREA's 'Spain' [thanks luchozepp] for him last night, they will play it together when it's ready. Then, Mark mentioned his old friend STEVE LYNCH to Steve.... Mark and Lynch hang out together. Steve Lynch plays in a group called 'Autograph', he plays the guitar, does something called 'Hammeral'. He lives somewhere up north...Federal Way?...towards Seattle anyway.
So, when we were rehearing jazz tunes tonight BARTLETT remembered Steve Lynch...maybe we could find him on YOUTUBE....Well, I found him...he doesn't play 'Hammeral...it's 'HAMMERHEAD'..AN AMAZING guitar solo [thanks LynchLicks ]Yes, it's amazing...just watch...he uses BOTH HANDS...WOW. My Steve loved it...Gonna go back and learn. This is what the video page says: "Uploaded on Jun 29, 2011
This solo, played at full speed, is taken from Steve's "THE RIGHT TOUCH" DVD that he originally produced in the lat 80's. Steve has a full break-down teaching lesson on how to play this solo available on his teaching site...www.lynchlicks.com
LynchLicks.com was created by STEVE LYNCH, the legendary lead-guitarist for the multi-platinum selling band, Autograph. Known by many guitar players as "the two-handed guitarist", Steve Lynch was an early innovator of the hammer-on method, as well as many other advanced guitar techniques."
