I found lots of news online and received many Emails about Jazz pianist legend DAVE BRUBECK's death recently at age 91 on December 5th from a heart attack, one day before his 92nd birthday.
Brubeck was a champion for civil rights, bringing together black, latino, white and all races of musicians together in the jazz community.
Forming his first quartet called THE DAVE BRUBECK QUARTET in the late fortys and early fiftys. Their recording of 'Take Five' propelled them into the pop charts in 1959 and sold about two million copies.

Steve BARTLETT ON BASS did this tune many, many times with MARTIN SALINAS/guitar, KENNY WilliamSon/drums at LIQUID SOUL COFFEE ROASTERs in McKenna, WA. in THE MARTIN SALINAS TRIO, beginning in 2007, ending in 2010. The Liquid Soul closed in August 2011, with BARB and MARTIN moving back to San Diego, California in 2011. My story HERE.
