Daven here. Just wanted to invite you all to come down to the State Theater downtown to enjoy Harlequin Production's Summer Sessions: Set in the '70s. It's a loud, raucous rock show celebrating the anthemic radio rock we all grew up listening to: Zeppelin, Springsteen, the Eagles, Chicago. Two solid sets of hit after hit, featuring the instrumental genius of my personal friends Brad Schrandt and Andy Garness, plus great singing, dancing, lights, costumes, video, see below for details. Entering into the fourth week, the show is picking up steam, we're really finding our groove, and the crowds get bigger every night, with people starting to show up in costume! Reviews have been very favorable, with critics saying things like "Turn it up! (Weekly Volcano)" and "The magic continues (South Sound Arts, Etc)". But let me add on a personal note that I absolutely love working with the people at Harlequin Productions, this brilliant family works incredibly hard and accomplishes the amazing. Did I mention the Zeppelin?
Also cool for me: Sunday August 26th I will be performing a concert at Traditions Cafe, a jazz recital of original material featuring Joe Baque and Steve Luceno on piano and bass, widely considered Olympia's A-list rhythm section. There are likely to be other notable local players joining in (you know me, I love a good jam). I'll furnish more details as they develop. www.traditionsfairtrade.com
Hope to see you all soon,
