I found a great post about Bass Guitar Genus, JACO PASTORIUS HERE recently on THEBLUESBLOGGER, link at top of post.... Jaco was one of Steve's heros. He would have been 60 last December and lived with Bi-Polar Mental Illness the last years of his life. That's what got him killed at age 35. Very interesting life Jaco had, such awesome musical talent, murdered because of his odd behavier.
I'm [T. Jan] so thankful that today, society is more open-minded and understands better that mental illness is caused by a disease or injury to the brain, and is NOT a sign of a moral or character flaws. Still the stigma of having a mental illness is difficult for most people to handle in this society even today....and so, many folks avoid getting help. There are now medications that can help the mentally ill live normal lives. .
