Let's see what's happening in the way of live music this week. OK?
Now tonight, Shelly Ely is hosting the greatest jam in the whole universe at UNCLE SAM's BAR AND GRILL in Spanaway. Starts at around 7 pm. Tonight, it's the amazing GARY CROOKS on guitar. With DYLAN LANNY ENGLAND on drums, TERRY JAE/bass. Of course, MS. BLUZZZZ herself, on vocals... It's Shelly Ely. They have a grill at UNCLE SAM's with lots of good grill stuff. Here's a copy of the menu with prices. Remember, tonight's a jam...bring your guitar etc. if you want to play with some excellent musicians.
On each Thursday night, THE JERRY MILLER BAND plays at 7 pm. This is a amazing band with Jerry Miller/guitar, Denny Foreman/guitar, Dave Erwin/bass, JEFF WALLACE/keyboard/violin, Allen Heath/drums, and Russ Harris/congas/harp as members of this fine group. Tacos are just a buck on Thursday nights...'OLE.
Yesterday, New Year Day, Shelly Ely played at UNCLE SAM's. Haven't heard how it went yet....but, it's Shelly for goodness sakes...How could it go but FABULOUS.

I heard this week, from Martin Salinas at LIQUID SOUL COFFEE ROASTER's in McKenna. Unplugged OPEN MIC begins this Thursday, January 6th at 6 pm. Gos until 9 pm., each Thursday evening. Go HERE for my report about this live music news event. Martin will be booking your favorite bands and musicians starting this month. Cool. Their phone is 360/400-soul. The address is...well, never mine that...how do you get there from where you are? That's what you want to know.....So,.. Well, let's see.... Liquid Soul's location is one mile south of Yelm...towards Roy. At the McKenna 'Y' stoplight...look right, just behind BAYDOS in that small mall...they're on the corner. A fun place with great organic food and Martin and Barb roast their own coffee beans right there...Can't get much fresher than that...can you? YUM. Oh...And 'Happy New Year' from the Salinas's too.

Next, KENNY WILLIAMSON. He sent a hopeful New Year's greeting to everyone. Still recording in Seattle as far as I've heard. No live music to report in the upcoming week.

WILLOUGHBY's RESTAURANT AND GRILL in Yelm. Let me go check them out real fast and report back to you........O.K...later...............Karaoke with SHELLSHOCK happened this past week, looks like no live music booked or reported for the coming week....They have a video posted of a happy bunch Holiday people 'singing?' Bohemian Rhapsody on December 22nd on Youtube HERE...the video's dark and hard to see....but, everyone looks very happy!! Hope Willoughny's Christmas drive went well.

Now, THE GOVERNOR's GRILL. Now nothing's new been reported since the 18th on their page. JOHN 'SCOOCH' CUGNO reported that his 'Trio' played at THE GOVERNOR's GRILL on New Year's Eve. Happy New Year everyone.

You can count on THE MANDOLIN CAFE to have lots of live music all the time in Tacoma on 12th. DENNY FOREMAN AND FRIENDS each Sunday night host AN OPEN MIC from 6 to 9 pm. Tip well or buy the Artists' CD, if you like the music. Remember, there's no pay for any of the musicians at THE MANDOLIN.

RAMTHA's SCHOOL Of ENLIGHTENMENT, THE YELM SENIOR CENTER and YELM COMMUNITY EXPANSION have nothing new to report this week.

STEVE BARTLETT, BARTLETT ON BASS....No live music this past week. Has rehearsal next Wednesday with 'WALTER's BIRTHDAY. They will be adding vocals to their new CD soon and preparing for THE SPIRAL CAFE ART AND WELL BEING STUDIO's opening fund-raiser on Friday, January 7th at 7 pm. Tamborine Borrelli reports that many local musicians will be there, including Steve Knopp, Mona Soyoc and RDJ. Click HERE for my music news report of this event. Thanks you guys.
